Litty & NORIKIYO reunite in style with high-energy track ‘WASSUP’
Fresh out of incarceration, the veteran Japanese MC makes a triumphant return
In 1999, Britney Spears' ‘...Baby One More Time’ turned school hallways into pop culture history. In 2026, Litty and NORIKIYO bring that classroom energy back with ‘WASSUP,’ transforming a school into the perfect playground for an infectious Pop Rap anthem.
The collaboration also marks an important chapter in NORIKIYO's career. After releasing 10 albums, the veteran Japanese rapper was incarcerated in 2022 for violating Japan's Cannabis Control Act. Even while in the pen, he remained remarkably active, releasing music, appearing on collaborations, sharing his perspective through his lyrics, and launching a crowdfunding campaign that raised more than three times its original goal. Released from prison in May, NORIKIYO wastes no time returning to the spotlight, making WASSUP a fitting first statement.
Built around an upbeat, club-ready bounce, WASSUP is packed with charisma. Litty delivers a hook that sticks immediately, while the video embraces its school setting with scenes in hallways, locker rooms, classrooms, the theater, and the basketball court. Midway through, NORIKIYO appears as a sharply dressed coach, stepping into the gym to rally the students with his unmistakable flow. By the final huddle, the whole team knows exactly ‘WASSUP.’
