KENZ is here to shake the table. Instead of being what people tell him to be, he’s fully committed to being himself, even if that is totally different. On his latest anthem, ‘ASLI,’ KENZ shows that he’s raw, bold, and real, the translation of ASLI in English.

From North Sulawesi but raised in Seattle, 24-year-old KENZ has a bright future ahead of himself. He’s managed by GOING NOODLES, a platform for Indonesia’s underground rising stars, and co-signed by RAMENGVRL. That’s not all. The track ‘ASLI’ is self-produced. The beat has a tinge of royalty with some sharp horn samples and a few bells in the background. KENZ’s raps in Bahasa Indonesia, Manado, and English are tight and delivered without fluff.

The video for ‘ASLI’ showcases the fact that sometimes KENZ is too Western and other times, he’s too Indonesian. He’s rolling on a soundstage, getting some moves in with his friends, and towards the second half, it gets arty. ‘ASLI’ the song shows the promise of KENZ the artist.
