Karma puts a mirror up to the Indian population on ‘Public Notice’
The hard-hitting track confronts a laundry list of the country’s problems head on
No country is perfect, but on Karma’s hard hitting ‘Public Notice,’ he speaks truth to power in a way that is making many people feel uncomfortable. He’s even receiving threats, so the message in the song has to be working.
Karma starts off by challenging his Indian listeners to see if his words are “too technical to understand.” He then raps about the various contradictions that go on in India every day. He asks if people find swearing in songs too much, but then go home and say the same things. He says that patriotism is the only thing that wakes people up, but just posting on Facebook on Independence Day is not enough. He then chastises the masses for spitting on the roads or harassing women. Politicians get caught up in the crossfire as well. Especially when ambulances have to stop for VIPs to go by.
He ends the song by saying that he could make 10 more songs like this if his message connects. If it doesn’t, he’ll just get back to scrolling jokes online. With the ‘Public Notice’ video raking in the views and causing a lot of blowback, we want Karma to keep doing what Hip Hop was meant to do.
