Jessi is making headlines every time with ‘Newsflash’
The Korean rapper doesn’t catch feelings; she catches flights
Jess is known to do things her own way. For her latest video, ‘Newsflash,’ which is presented as a live performance, she gives her own twist to the hanging microphone trend in Hip Hop videos that is showing no signs of going away.
For ‘Newsflash,’ instead of hanging the mic from the ceiling, Jessi puts herself in the middle of a press conference. With older TVs in the back and a podium in the front, Jessi shows off her Hip Hop chops. She is on point when she starts, “Don’t believe all the hype/I don’t believe what they type/Media taking Jessi this, Jessi that/They want me out like a stray little kitty cat.”
Halfway through, there is a bit of an R&B interlude where Jessi sings and dances, then she pops back into Hip Hop for the end. The final part of her hook is a good summarization of where Jessi is right now: “I don’t catch feelings/I catch flights.”
