BLACKPINK is everywhere right now but in individual form. Lisa will release her album, Alter Ego, on February 28, and it has features from Hip Hop artists like Doja Cat, Future, and Megan Thee Stallion. Not to be outdone, Lisa’s bandmate Jennie is releasing her album, Ruby, on March 7, and it has features from Childish Gambino, French Kiwi Juice, and the It-girl of the moment, Doechii.

Jennie and Doechii’s single, ‘ExtraL’ has been released, and it’s a female empowerment anthem that hits on all cylinders. Jennie raps and sings on it in Korean and English, and Doechii shines bright, as she has been slaying anything she has done over the past few months. ‘ExtraL’ gets the ladies revved up, and that’s always a good thing for a club tune. The video has enough K-pop to keep that world happy, and enough Doechii to make the hipsters smile.

With half of BLACKPINK releasing albums over the next few weeks without their former label, 2025 will show that the ladies don’t need permission to do whatever they want.
