Jackson Wang is a massive star and he’s had some time off since his Magic Man run in 2022 and 2023, but he’s revving up the engines again as Magic Man II is about to be released. The singer and rapper took some time away from the scene to reassess his life and figure out how he wants to make music. Magic Man II will have four distinct chapters, each dealing with a different stage of grief.

His latest release, ‘GBAD,’ is a blend of Hip Hop, Indie Rock, and R&B that feels a bit like The Weeknd with some Gnarls Barkley rolled in. It’s a departure from his former self as Jackson embraces a bit of the bad guy. ‘GBAD’ stands for “Gotta be a dick” and in the video, he’s out to show that people only live once.

The video for ‘GBAD’ is a trip as Jackson finds himself in Magic Man attire in what could be Kansas from The Wizard of Oz. Soon, he’s helping people not fall off a ladder or get hit by a train with magical hip thrusts. The beat switches and so does the video when he starts being dragged in every direction by masked monsters. Overall, the video is a message that Jackson needs to set boundaries and protect his own will.
