Japan’s clothing label GENRE BENDR moves into music production

Their first single ‘PARTiES’ features Ry-lax and MARZY

For the last few years, Japan’s GENRE BENDR clothing label has produced hard-to-get T-shirts, hoodies, hats, and even flip-flops that DJs have been clamoring for. At the Red Bull 3style DJ championships, competitors and champions would get limited-edition gear that would be the envy of all in attendance. Now, they’ve decided to add another branch of GENRE BENDR and start a music label to express their world view.

The first song they have dropped on their GENRE BNDR label is called ‘PARTiES’ featuring Ry-lax and MARZY. In a time when the world is slowly opening up from a year-long reset, ‘PARTiES’ is a feel-good tune that makes people want to see their friends again, visit nightclubs, and try and forget about the last year.

GENRE BENDR’s motto, “Good Music, Good Party” is stamped all over their clothes. To go with the good music part of that, they got Hokkaido-born Hip Hop personality on local radio station WREP, Ry-lax, to rhyme on their track. No stranger to releasing music and collabs, Ry-lax is currently working on his first album, Control.

The second MC, who seems like he always has a smile on his face and a good story to tell is Tokyo-based MARZY. Half flower power hippy, half rambunctious trouble starter, MARZY is someone who can make sure the party is good.

GENRE BNDR is making moves in 2021, and ‘PARTiES’ is a great way to start.
