At the beginning of the trailer for the new Smurfs movie, destined to be a summer 2025 blockbuster, Rihanna voices the lead, Smurfette. She declares, “In Smurf Village, everyday is a party,” and shows all the small, blue creatures [including Influencer Smurf!!?!!] doing line dances and more. Soon, a dark cloud comes over the village and Papa Smurf is taken into the sky. He needs to be rescued and the Smurfs are the only ones that can help.

As they get sucked into a vintage phonograph, a sample of Belinda Carlisle’s ‘Heaven is a Place on Earth’ starts playing. Instead of the lead singer of the Go-Go’s, though, it’s Desi Trill working their magic on the familiar tune. Add DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Natania, and Subhi to the track and we’ve got a contender for song of the summer, and it’s only February.

The song starts like most other Cardi B songs with a chorus and verse, and then it goes full Desi Trill when Natania and Subhi step up as the beat gets a bit more Bollywood. By the end, DJ Khaled has sprinkled some of his magic sauce on the track and even shouts out Desi Trill’s slogan, Brown in Everywhere.

This summer is Desi Trill’s time to shine.
