While a lot of rappers are writing about love, money, gunplay, and fame, the Australian Alternative Hip Hop group 1300 has just released a catchy ode to bread called ‘Bangalang.’ The song is yeasty listening as DALI HART, rako, and goyo, trade bars about their favorite Asian-style baked goods and croquettes.

Like Balming Tiger before them, 1300 isn’t restricted to any style, flow, or song structure. They put their rhymes in a mixing bowl, throw them in the oven, and rejoice when the songs come out hot and fresh. ‘Bangalang’ has a beat produced by pokari.sweat that is airy like sourdough. The verses are dense like rye bread at the bakery, but once they get to the chorus, it’s a springy dance party like a brioche.

1300 has a style all their own, and they are cultivating and fermenting it with every release. ‘Bangalang’ is chewy and crunchy at the same time, making it the perfect loaf to listen to over and over.
