From Nina Simone’s vocal inflections to Curtis Mayfield’s falsetto to Chuck D from Public Enemy’s booming baritone, music has always been about the voice. In Asian Hip Hop, YoungOhm’s voice is as recognizable as they come. He can sing and rap, but it’s more about the warbly soulful sounds he produces, like on his latest single, ‘11 Duean.’

On the track, YoungOhm sounds like a mix between heartbroken and in heaven as he pens an ode to a long-distance love affair over a UK Garage beat. Never one to be held down by a particular approach to music, YoungOhm’s style is unpredictable and yet dancefloor-friendly.

Like most people these days, YoungOhm is using the LINE app to wow his female companion. She has to be in Frankfurt, but he’s promising he doesn’t want bad b*tches anymore. He’s even speaking of making her his wife. ‘11 Duean’ is only 11 months they have to wait to be together.

Life is better when YoungOhm is in the mix with new tracks. LiFTED is excited to check out his new album, Fai Glang Khuen [Night Lights], when it drops soon.
