Red Bull 64 Bars is back with Karma & Stunna Beatz dropping the ‘Zi Freestyle’
The third season spotlights MCs who can rap the energy out of a drink
In Hip Hop’s 52 years, lyrics have fluctuated in importance. Now, Red Bull 64 Bars is back for its third season spotlighting MCs who can rap the energy out of a drink. The first session, ‘Zi Freestyle’ with Karma and Stunna Beatz, is a flex in lyrical dexterity.
Stunna Beatz’ stunning beat takes a while to warm up. For 32 bars, Karma is spitting while the waviness of the beat keeps bubbling. Right at that 32nd bar and after a pause, the drums kick in and things go wild. Karma is a no-nonsense MC with street sensibility and sharp-as-nails bars.
With Red Bull 64 Bars, there’s no need to have a hook. There are no filters for the rhymes. There are no limits to what the producer and MC can do. With ‘Zi Freestyle,’ Stunna Beatz and Karma strip away the gimmicks and put one down for Indian Hip Hop.
