Collesttye & Wiz Khalifa take it back to Soundcloud Rap with ‘BLUNTONOMICS’

The next gen of Indian Hip Hop is on the come up

Wiz Khalifa has spent his career shaping culture at every level of Hip Hop. From the underground buzz of ‘Black and Yellow’ to stadium-sized anthems like ‘Young, Wild & Free’ and the global smash ‘See You Again,’ Wiz has always had a rare ability to turn moments into movements. Alongside Snoop Dogg, he helped make stoner rap a worldwide lane, not just a niche.

Now, Wiz is tapping into the next generation. His new collaboration with rising Indian rapper Collesttye, ‘BLUNTONOMICS,’ feels like a throwback to the golden era of mid-2010s SoundCloud rap — raw, emotional, and unapologetically vibey.

Collesttye first caught serious attention with his 2024 project Habromania, where standout track “CGPA” became one of the most shared songs from the release. “BLUNTONOMICS” flips that momentum into something bigger, reworking the track with Wiz Khalifa stepping in as the ultimate co-sign.

Driven by heavy synths and gritty, confessional bars, the song sits right at the intersection of Emo Rap and laid-back smoke-session energy. It’s introspective enough to soundtrack late-night thoughts, but still hits hard enough to light up a crowd. The black-and-white video, shot around Wiz’s Rolling Loud performance, adds another layer. It’s proof that when the timing is right, dreams can move fast.

With “BLUNTONOMICS,” Collesttye and Wiz Khalifa don’t just bridge generations, they spotlight where Indian Hip Hop is headed next.
