Bars, Beats & Breaking: Cambodian Hip Hop unites for Border Samaki
More than 15 artists, dancers & DJs will raise funds for refugees & underprivileged youth
Cambodia’s Hip Hop community is rallying for rhythm and resilience at Border Samaki – Hip-Hop for Hope, a benefit concert raising essential funds for refugees caught in the border conflict between Cambodia and Thailand.
Organized by Fragmentis Vitae Asia and the Peace & Solidarity Collective in Southeast Asia, in collaboration with Rombak Battle, indie label B-Side, and the B-Box club, the event has garnered widespread support. At the forefront is KlapYaHandz, Cambodia’s trailblazing Hip Hop label, alongside a powerful lineup of artists and allies.
More than 15 performers will light up the stage, including vocalists Vuthea, Izame Siva, Amara, OG Golden, Toro, Zoker, Tagmez, Raksa, and 2mdie, with DJ Jackson, DJ Illest, Larry Zinc, and Miss Wii on the decks. Expect show-stopping moves from Tiny Toones breakdancers BBoy Slick and BGirl Nailaa, plus a special appearance from WBC Crew, best known as VannDa’s dancers.
The concert takes place Saturday, September 6 at B-Box Club, Factory Phnom Penh, with proceeds going directly to displaced communities along the Cambodia–Thailand border and to Tiny Toones, which supports underprivileged children. All ticket sales and 35% of bar revenues feed directly into the Peace & Solidarity Collective’s relief fund.
