A decade in the making: YENTOWN’s long-awaited debut album Y.E.N. is here
A celebration of legacy, resilience & artistry
After 10 years of shaping the landscape of Japanese Hip Hop at individual levels, YENTOWN has finally released its first full-length crew album, Y.E.N. More than just a record, it’s a celebration of legacy, resilience, and artistry from one of Japan’s most influential collectives.
Formed in 2014 under the guidance of producer Chaki Zulu, YENTOWN quickly emerged as a creative powerhouse. Each member–kZm, Awich, PETZ, MonyHorse, JNKMN, and U-Lee–has since carved out a distinct solo identity, becoming staples in Japan’s ever-evolving Rap scene. Y.E.N reminds us of their undeniable chemistry and a deep-rooted love for the craft.
The album is entirely self-produced, with crew mainstays like Chaki Zulu, DJ JAM, Nabewalks, WATAPACHI, Ryuw, and U-Lee providing the genre-fluid foundation. From hard-hitting bangers to introspective cuts, each track is both a flex and a reflection documenting a 10-year journey of artistic growth and cultural impact.
The final track, ‘YENTOWN’, is the album’s emotional core. With guest Awich and all members passing the mic in a symbolic relay, it captures the crew’s evolution and unity. Released alongside a commemorative music video and limited edition merch with New Era, Y.E.N feels like a coronation.
