Woodstock to be held in Korea: BTS & BLACKPINK rumored to be headliners
The music fest will be hosted July 28-30
On the 70th anniversary of the Korean War armistice agreement, which brought the Korean War to an end, SGC entertainment believes that people will want to party. They announced that they will be bringing Woodstock to Hantangang River Geopark complex in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province On July 28 to the 30.
Yes…that Woodstock. The peace, love, and music Woodstock. The Woodstock that first took place at Max Yasgur’s farm in Bethel, New York with 400,000 attendees and amazing sets by Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Cocker, Richie Havens, The Who, and more. The same Woodstock that had the 25th-anniversary concert in 1994, and the 30th in 1999 that turned into a madhouse with fire, destruction, and an excellent Netflix documentary released in 2021.
Although no lineups have been announced, there are expected to be at least 30 acts on the bill over the three days. Burning up the rumor mill on Internet chat rooms and message boards are whispers that two of the world’s biggest K-pop acts, BTS and BLACKPINK, will be headlining. While it does make sense for Korea’s most popular exports to play, that decision is up to SGC entertainment and the Woodstock brand.
