During a recent concert in Nepal, an audience member threw an Indian flag towards the stage. Pakistani rapper and half of the Young Stunners, Talha Anjum, caught it and waved it around. He even draped the flag on his shoulders while he rapper his diss to Indian rapper Naezy, ‘Kaun Talha.’

The fans at the concert ate this gesture up, but once the footage went viral, many people criticized the rapper for being provocative and lacking respect. With the recent troubles between India and Pakistan, many thought he was kicking the bee’s nest during the show.

Talha said this was untrue. On his social media, he posted, “My heart has no place for hate. My art has no borders. If raising an Indian flag sparks controversy, so be it. I’ll do it again. I will never care about the media, the war-mongering governments, and their propagandas. Urdu rap is and will always be borderless.”

The internet will always be the internet so half of the people thought Talha was bold by showing an act of solidarity with India during heated times. Others, though, stated he was only doing this to appeal to the much bigger Indian Hip Hop audiences.

Talha Anjum is not only putting out great music; he’s showing that with Hip Hop, he can fight the power.
