Taiwanese adidas Samba Fried Chicken looks finger lickin’ good
adidas pays homage to a night market delight
A few weeks back, LiFTED covered Family Mart’s boneless fried chicken house slippers. Not to be outdone, adidas has a new pair of Sambas that are inspired by night market fried chicken in Taiwan.
When going to a night market in Taiwan, there are countless fried chicken stalls, but it’s easy to see which one is the best because there is always a long line no matter what time you go. The Sambas have taken the golden brown exterior of the street food and put it on your feet. With the drop, there are similarly-designed t-shirts, coin purses, and tote bags.
This new trend in footwear fashion influenced by local delicacies is dope. It is adding another layer to the hipster playbook because people have to actually travel to the countries to pick up the shoes since they are not sold anywhere else.
