Straight Outta Srinagar [SOS] is Aatankki and Tufail Nazir, who have just put out their first release on Mass Appeal with the street banger, ‘Kala,’ produced by 30KEY!. From the hard-hitting streets of Kashmir, the two MCs blend pain, poetry, and pride into something everyone can feel.

On the hook, the duo raps, “Kala hai Jaadugari/Bete mai Jaadugar/Kalam ki dhaar tez/Kaate laundon ke par,” which translates into “The pen is their blade, and every verse cuts through the noise with purpose.” With influences like Kendrick Lamar and Immortal Technique, it's easy to see why SOS and take their lived experiences and systemic challenges and turn them into a celebration of the raw resilience of their community.

The video for ‘Kala’ is incredibly stylistic by Ednitworld, and the influences of Kendrick’s ‘Humble’ are noticeable. Both rappers look good in various scenes, and they effectively convey that they are to be taken seriously in the game.
