Simon Dominic & Masta Wu get in their feelings with ‘느껴’

Killer beats & relaxed flows

Upon first listen of Simon Dominic and Masta Wu’s ‘느껴, two rappers come to mind–Big Punisher and Snoop Dogg. On Simon’s first line he says, “I’m not a player I just f*ck a lot,’ which references Big Pun’s biggest hit, ‘Still Not a Player.’ The top dawg is on the mind because the off-kilter beat has a feel like one of Snoop’s biggest hits, ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot.’

These are both compliments of ‘느껴’ because Hip Hop is always rooted in what has come before it. Simon’s relaxed flow, and Masta Wu’s braggadocio raps feel like it’s perfectly early-2000s. ‘느껴’ translated into English is ‘I feel it,’ and this song gives the feels for sure.

There is only one problem. When ‘느껴’ is said, it’s pronounced “Neukkyeo.” In this song, that sounds a lot like the N-word and it is rapped over and over again. People listening to this song might get the wrong impression since it is Hip Hop at its core.
