Nike Air Max 95 to pay homage to Japanese 7-Elevens
Orange, green, red & brown colorways kick off Nike’s convenience store series
In 2020, Nike and 7-Eleven were supposed to collab on SB Dunks for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The Japan-only release was timed perfectly because this would be the first summer that Skateboarding was going to be an event at the Olympic level. The sneak peek was loved and hated on by the sneaker community because of its bold orange, green, and red colors, but once the Olympics were postponed because of COVID-19, the sneakers never made it to market. Nowadays, the few pairs of the 7-Eleven SB Dunks that are out there are considered holy grails which typically sell for anywhere from US$3,000 to US$15,000 on the resale market.
Recently, it was announced that Nike has taken matters into its own hands, and a Nike Air Max 95 will be paying homage to Japanese 7-Elevens. The Air Max 95 is all suede with red, green, and orange layers. The toes and heels are brown, so in case you are working at 7-Eleven, the shoe doesn’t get dirty.
This is part of Nike’s convenience store series which will reportedly include a dedication to Lawson’s as well in blue and white. No release date has been set for the shoes, but they are expected to be out over the next few months so people can look cool in the heat of the summer.
