Nas has always been ahead of his time. The Queenbridge MC’s first album in 1994, Illmatic, is widely considered a classic, and is known as the best debut Hip Hop album ever [forgive me Doggystyle]. On the 31st anniversary of that release, the legendary MC went to India and performed at The World Reunion concert with DIVINE, Raftaar, King, Seedhe Maut, KR$NA, Steel Banglez, and more.

Nas is about his business, but he’s also for the children. There is video of him rapping ‘I Can,’ a song that kids sing on the chorus, in a classroom filled with kids. It’s an adorable take from a master MC who wanted to do something in India besides a show.

Nas is one of the best lyricists ever, but he’s also a hell of a businessman. In 2013, his investment into Mass Appeal Media, which was an out-of-print publication known for long-form journalism loved by the music heads. Besides reviving the magazine, he is also the co-founder of Mass Appeal Records, which has a subsidiary, Mass Appeal India. This label has been instrumental in putting out records by big-name artists like DIVINE, and setting up the World Reunion concert.

Nas and Mass Appeal Records are also releasing seven albums this summer. Check out the video below.
