Japan’s MC Tyson takes it back to the early 2000s with ‘Make It Rain’
He’s joined by eyden & Watson on the track from his album The Message 6
MC Tyson has an affinity for 2000’s Hip Hop. On his latest single, ‘Make It Rain, the Japanese MC invites eyden and Watson to rock with him over a beat that sounds like it could be an Eminem song while doing an interpolation of two of 2000’s biggest hits, 50 Cent’s ‘Many Men’ and Fat Joe’s ‘Make It Rain’ with Lil Wayne on the chorus.
The video is a nostalgia-filled trip down memory lane as all three MCs win at a casino in what looks to be Blackjack with some weird betting patterns. Then it’s a big celebration as MC rocks the mic first while a guy pays back what he’s owed. In his part, Tyson has a modern-day version of geishas who have a bit less makeup and a lot more selfies. The middle verse goes to eyden, who dances around in the casino with his winnings and also does the drunken businessman in Japan moves.
Finally, Watson is the nerdy substitute teacher at an all-girls high school. Of course, Watson has no classroom control, and soon the students smashing him with paper and twerking all over the classroom. Once Watson starts rapping, he finally earns the respect of the students and they end up dancing with him.
MC Tyson’s ‘Make It Rain’ reminisces about a time 20 years ago when the world wasn’t as crazy and people enjoyed themselves in various ways without their heads down glued to cell phones.
