It’s always a good day when a new MC Jin video hits the internets, but the Hong Kong-filmed ‘Nobody’ is something a little more special. That’s because the idea behind the song is deep, and Jin has been hanging out with Steven Chow.

Jin and Steven have been talking about how in most of his movies, the nobodies are somebodies. Even though a person is small, that nobody is very capable in big ways that help solve the problems of the movies. Also, as Jin tells it, “There is a thin line between somebody and nobody, because even if you are famous, there may be people who don't know you. So that somebody may also be a nobody, so I wrote this song in this direction. I think this song has a central message, which is to encourage the audience. If you think you are a nobody, this is not a big problem, because actually everyone is a nobody and a somebody at the same time.”

The video, shot in the distinct alleys and shops of Hong Kong, contains many Easter eggs referring to Steven Chow’s movies. Some are easily figured out, like Shaolin Soccer or Kung Fu Hustle, while other references need to have a deep knowledge of the director’s filmography.
