Mixing braggadocio and smooth charisma, the track highlights the Vietnamese [by way of Texas] MC’s growth since his 2024 debut and asserts his place in Asian Rap.

‘Can’t Teach You Shit’ is reminiscent of Gunna and Lil Baby’s heyday. It’s a chilled-out Trap beat with warbling AutoTuned vocals that beg for repeat listens. Himothy himself is bursting with confidence on the mic. Bar after bar of flexing isn’t new in Hip Hop, but it is refreshing to have some cheeky references to his Asian heritage.

Year Of The Snake is Himothy Chung’s debut album. The rapper takes inspiration from a plethora of sounds across the Trap landscape with ‘Can’t Teach You Sh*t’ being an impressive standout that shows how much he’s able to push beyond his influences.
