GADORO refuses to fade on 'ヒトリゴト [Hitorigoto]'
Resilience spoken aloud until it starts to feel true
GADORO opens his new chapter with a conversation he's having with himself. ‘ヒトリゴト [Hitorigoto]’ translates to “talking to oneself,” and is the lead single from his latest album – mile. The Japanese rapper’s thesis for the record is resilience spoken aloud until it starts to feel true.
Producer DYES IWASAKI drops in bright, ascendant synths and some live drums to give the track breathing room. It’s Pop Rap reminiscent of B.o.B or Travis McCoy filled with melody and momentum built to lift the spirits.
That sheen gives GADORO's verses their forward push. He raps like someone narrating his own resolve in real time, his optimism riding with images of grinding and working hard to achieve everything that he yearns for in life.
It's underdog music in the truest sense. The threat of burning out, answered by a flat refusal to stop. The hook’s repetition plays like an incantation that feels like defiance disguised as a monologue. As the opening track for mile, ‘ヒトリゴト’ is bright, bruised, and unwilling to quit.
