Creepy Nuts ride their own wave with double drop ‘Mirage’ & ‘Nemure’
The tracks are the opening & closing themes of the anime Call of the Night
Creepy Nuts live in a unique spot in Japanese culture because they are the wave and ride the wave as well. In 2019, manga Yofukashi no Uta was inspired by a Creepy Nuts song of the same name. When the anime series launched in 2022, Creepy Nuts did the opening and closing themes for the show. Season two is now out, and Creepy Nuts has dropped new opening and closing themes, ‘Mirage’ and ‘Nemure’ respectively.
‘Mirage’ has a Latin sound with a great Flamenco guitar lick to make it wispy and worldly. It feels like both the producer, DMC World DJ Champion DJ Matsunaga, and battle Rap legend MC, R-shitei, have been appreciating the artistry of Bad Bunny. ‘Nemure’ is glitchy and Jersey-fied, and feels the more urgent and blistering of the two tracks.
Both of these songs continue to elevate Creepy Nuts’ legend into the stratosphere. They don’t have to go by anyone’s rules. They don’t need approval. They just keep doing their own thing, and the perfect waves come to them.
