Indian MC becomes 5th most-viewed rapper on YouTube
Contrary to the headline, Indian rapper Badshah is not joining Young Money. Instead, he is the fifth most-viewed Hip Hop artist in the world behind Drake, Eminem, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Wayne according to Chartmasters.
While Bad Bunny comes out on top of all artists, out of the top 50 slots in the 1,000 Most Viewed Artists on YouTube in Hip Hop, only three Indian Hip Hop artists make the cut–Badshah, Sidhu Moosewalla, and Karan Aujla. Over 150 career releases, Badshah has 26.1 billion views on YouTube and more than 25 billion combined streams across other digital platforms.
Instead of joining Young Money, Badshah has been putting out new music with up-and-coming artists in India. Instead of using his connections to get legends on tracks, his rollout has been a launchpad for the rapidly developing Indian Hip Hop scene.
