Awich goes full Wu-Tang with Ferg & Lupe Fiasco on ‘Wax On Wax Off’ produced by RZA

Isn’t it time to introduce a female Wu-Tang member?

Like a karate flick from the 1980s, Awich hits her fans with a roundhouse kick to the dome on ‘Wax On Wax Off.’ The song has features from two Hip Hop heavyweights, Ferg and Lupe Fiasco, as well as production from the Abbot of the Wu-Tang Clan, RZA.

Awich leans heavy into the Wu-Tang universe on ‘Wax On Wax Off.’ She’s training at dojos. She’s dropping mad verses in English with rhymes like, “Call me Mr. Miyagi as I bust you in your dental.” She’s going back and forth with her guests just as the Wu-Tang Clan does.

The video is a high-budget homage to Awich’s Okinawan heritage via karate movies. She has mentioned how Mr. Miyagi was a hero in interviews, and the background actors waxing the cars confirm that. Another significant part of the video is Lupe Fiasco. A Lupe verse is always going to be good, but this stands out because he sounds great trading lines with Awich.

With the Wu-Tang Clan on their farewell tour, isn’t it about time they introduced a new generation of Wu-Tang members to the world? Wouldn’t it be a delight if Awich became the first female Wu-Tang Clan member? With a little ‘Wax On Wax Off’ practice, anything is possible.
