Yung Sammy is a name people will be saying a lot over the next few years. The Nigerian-born MC just released an On The Radar freestyle, and in it, he raps in Hindi. That’s not all. He’s fluent in English, Punjabi, Gujjari, and Haryanvi, so when he’s on the mic he’s representing for Africa and India.

As the son of a preacher, Yung Sammy had to be sure that he wanted to be an MC before he told his father what he wanted to do. After sharpening his skills at Rap battles and working on his writing skills, Sammy put out ‘4x4’ on Spotify and got a lot of attention since he’s Nigerian rapping in Hindi. Then, Desi Trill came knocking. Soon, Yung Sammy was in London recording his six-track EP, In The Building.

Yung Sammy has now been to Hot97 to talk about his life and was in the booths where Pop Smoke and Eminem recorded their albums. While in the US, he jumped at the chance to do his On The Radar freestyle, which is a song ‘Noida 2 NYC,’ shouting out where he’s been and pushing forward to where he wants to be.
