Russ delays concert because of notoriously bad Manila traffic
Filipino time in full effect
American Hip Hop artist Russ had a concert scheduled for 8:30 p.m. on Friday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City in Manila. Due to the notoriously bad Manila traffic on Friday nights especially, he Tweeted out that there would be a 30-minute delay for his start time.
Manila the traffic is crazy so fans are late gettin to the venue. My original set time was 8:20 but imma wait for everyone to show up and go on around 8:45/9— RUSS (@russdiemon) November 5, 2022
In the Philippines, when someone is either 30 minutes or three hours late, this is called Filipino time. When asked why they are late, people can just say traffic, everyone will nod their heads in agreement, and everything is all good. Because Russ has such a huge fanbase in Manila who were on their way to the venue but weren’t quite there yet, the delay was a huge blessing for those who love the rapper.
The concert went through as planned and the people that made it, even if they were late, had a great time. In an Instagram post afterward, Russ thanked his Filipino fans for knowing a lot of the words to some of his deep cuts.
