Loonie makes a triumphant return after a decade on Meron Na

It’s the rapper’s first full-length album since 2013

Ten years after his impressive sophomore album, Ultrasound, Filipino rapper Loonie returns with a curated body of work that reflects the trials and tribulations he’s faced across the years and channels them into his art. Loonie dedicates his new album Meron Na to “all the unseen and underappreciated people of our society,” with a number of the tracks that are pure freestyles as their messages come straight from his heart.

The award-winning rapper looks to Meron Na to inspire the future of Filipino hip-hop as he celebrates his storied career as one of the country’s best rappers. Packed with 12 tracks, the album’s Trap-laden production gives Loonie a canvas to paint his vivid stories — like on ‘Pamaggulo’ as it explores the subtleties of “beginnings, endings and everything in between”.

Meron Na also features notable Filipino emcees such as Flow G, Hev Abi, Jrldm, and more. Their presence on the record is a testament to the influence Loonie has left since his mega-hit, ‘Tao Lang,’ in 2012.
