Myanmar has had a troubled recent history, but it’s also been a breeding ground for stellar Hip Hop over the past few years. This has been attributed to the country's influential cultural history. On his latest single, ‘Made in Burma,’ J-Fire dedicates his music to Myanmar’s youth, urging them to show love to the culture that has been foundational for the country since the Pyu Era.

A standout off his latest album Burma Rap, the track’s beat combines traditional music used in Nat Pwe performances and contemporary Rap production. Both J-Fire and Ice Cold wax poetic about the need to embrace our collective past to create a brighter future.

The music video for ‘Made in Burma’ expands on these sentiments as we see J-Fire rapping in the midst of an actual Nat Pwe performance. The troupe of dancers clad in gorgeous traditional outfits as he continues to rap about the country’s rich history.
