After 7-year hiatus, G-Dragon proves he’s still got the ‘POWER’

The video is getting kind of hectic

Seven years in the music business is a few lifetimes. In 2017, ‘Despacito’ was a number-one song on the charts and started the Latin wave of Bad Bunny requests. Afrobeats had not even gone global, and Ed Sheeran was peaking with ‘Shape of You.’ 2017 was the last time Korean superstar G-Dragon put out an album, but now he’s back to prove that he’s still got the ‘POWER.’

‘POWER’ shows that G-Dragon hasn’t been hibernating one bit. Instead, he’s back with a vengeance to show off his kind of hybrid K-pop and K-hop. Over a horn-heavy beat with thick drums, G-Dragon raps a bit like Busta Rhymes with a hyperkinetic flow. The one-take-like video has him running wild in a production studio causing mayhem on each set.

G-Dragon explains, ‘POWER’ manifests the essence of music. I express myself through music. This marks the beginning of a new era and I hope to inspire people who listen to my music.”
