In Awich’s recent photos, there has been a sparkle in her eye. She sees the mountaintop and is working to the bone to get there. That light at the top is an Asian Hip Hop artist breaking through in the US. One of the pieces to fulfilling this puzzle is ‘Butcher Shop,’ her latest release with FERG produced by RZA.

Awich holds nothing back with her f*ck-you’-pay-me-attitude while she spits the opening and closing verses. FERG is in the middle and it’s good to see a former A$AP member rhyming over the Abbot’s beats.

For the Japanese MC, the “‘Butcher Shop’ is a place where three of my realities intersect—Okinawa, where I was born and raised; Tokyo, where I live now; and New York. Together with a legend like RZA and a true embodiment of the streets like FERG, we cut through the noise with sharp words and beats to capture the spirit of this borderless era. This song is a crossroads—Japan and NYC, culture and fashion, luxury and play, sin and consequence. Everyone brings their own ‘meat’ to the table, and we slice into the truth. Welcome to our Butcher Shop.”
